Nana's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!!

Today is Nana's birthday, but we decided to celebrate it last night since Mommy has to work tonight. One of Peyton's favorite things to do is celebrate birthday's. She sings Happy Birthday at least once a day (usually it's "dear Papa") and is constantly asking if we're going to have birthday cake. Whenever we have dessert after dinner, it's always considered "Birthday Cake" and it always requires a song. Needless to say, last night was probably Peyton's favorite night of the week. It definitely helped that we were seated outside, so she got to wander around all night instead of actually sit at the table.

On a side note, Nana got hurt on a golf cart last weekend and is full of boo-boos. This makes Peyton very concerned, so it is her new favorite thing to talk about. She tells me every chance that she gets that "Nana's Sad", and last night she said she was going to "walk sad" like Nana...

All in all it was a pretty successful evening :)

Here We Go.....

So I have discovered that it is virtually impossible to be a parent and not have a blog. Anyone and everyone who has children (and even a few who don't) seem to have a blog, and apparently I am out of the loop. I have also discovered that if your child happens to be the most entertaining child on Earth, as mine happens to be, it is essential to have a blog so you can share any and every funny thing your child says and does.

For instance, Peyton's new favorite thing is to ask who people are. Does she do this politely? No. Does she do this quietly? No. Instead, she points (and she is very clear on who she is pointing to) and yells "What is THAT???" because she apparently has not learned that a person is not a "that" yet. As I recently discovered, old men reading their newspaper on a Saturday morning in Starbucks don't find this to be nearly as funny as I do.

So the point is, here is my blog. And if you haven't figured this out already, it will be about my favorite subject.. Peyton.

If you're reading this, I'm assuming you already know who Peyton is and why she is my favorite subject of conversation. But if not, here is a brief overview.

This, is Peyton.

She's smart, witty, and extremely stubborn. She has one heck of a personality, which has been evident since she was as young as a few months. Although, after growing up in a house with a mother who knows she's the funniest person on Earth, and a "Papa" that thinks he is, it'd be hard not to formulate some sort of personality full of sarcasm and wit. So there she is. Don't worry, that may be the first picture you are seeing of my gorgeous baby girl, but it certainly won't be the last (anyone who is friends with me on Facebook can agree with that one).
